Fruit tree guilds are mini-ecosystems created by curating a community of plants with different functions around the base of a fruit tree to benefit the overall health and produciton of the tree. We will go over the various functions of the different layers of a fruit tree guild, along with plant recommendations and design elements. This technique has many applications and can be customized to suit the unique needs of the species in your own yard.

Participants will:

-Explore an existing Pawpaw guild that is several years into production and learn about the various plants and their unique roles within the guild

-Work together to build and plant a second Pawpaw guild
