Hugelkultur (pronouced HOOGLE-culture) is a gardening technique where logs, sticks, leaves, compost, and other organic materials are layered together to create a mound that is planted with a community of plants. Over time, the materials in the mound break down and regenerate the soil creating a nutrient rich, bio-active soil, contributing to beautifully productive yields.
Participants will:
-Learn about the anatomy and practical applications of Hugelkultur gardens in the landscape.
-Work together to build and plant a Hugelkultur garden, and plant it with a variety of annual and perennial food plants
